Shanghai Silport Golf Club, Wednesday 18th March. Shenzhen based Liu Qing shot a three over par 75 to win the Volvo China Open Mid-China Qualifying at Silport with a two round total of 145. He finished one shot ahead of Xu Qin and three ahead of Shangdong based Liu Anda. All three earn coveted spots in the Volvo China Open in Beijing in April.

Hong Kong resident, Justin Evans, sealed a coveted place in the Volvo China Open in Beijing in April with a final round 70 to finish joint first with a three under par total of 141. Tied with Evans was 18 year old Eom Jae-woong of Korea who leapfrogged the pack with a five under par 67 in his final round.

Entries are now being taken for the four qualifying competitions for the Volvo China Open They will be held over a five week period from end February to early April starting in Hong Kong with International Qualifying, open to players from worldwide. Each competition is preceded by a practice day and will be 36 holes stroke play over two days. Men, women and juniors who meet the conditions of entry can apply although, with fields restricted to 80 in each competition, there is the possibility of entries being oversubscribed and priority given to higher ranked players.
